Pakistan lodges protest with Afghanistan over Dir attack

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office (FO) on Thursday, alleging that Afghan-based Taliban attacked on a Pakistani checkpost in Dir, has urged NATO, Afghan forces and ISAF to take action against cross-border militancy against Pakistan, Geo News reported Thursday.

Expressing anger to on Taliban attack, Pakistan today (Thursday) summoned Afghan envoy to foreign office and lodged with him strong protest over the incident.

According to foreign office statement, Afghan Taliban carried out the deadly attack on the Pakistan security forces’ checkpost inside Pakistan from Afghanistan, killing 34 people including 28 policemen and another six civilians.

Nearly 45 Taliban militants were killed in the retaliatory action by Pakistani security forces following the attack on checkpost.
